Dan Fellini

I'm a web developer in the nonprofit tech space, from Portland, Oregon. I write code to support people doing great work.

Here's a bit more about me.

I have a dog.

Here's my LinkedIn.

This is my IMDB page. In other news, I have an IMDB page!

One time, back a few years ago, I went on an adventure to Nepal, where I was blown away and changed forever by experiencing life outside my bubble.

There was that one time I wrote for The Unofficial Apple Weblog, now part of Engadget. This was my intro. The rest of it seems to have been trashed, sadly.

For about a day I was quoted all over the internet because of solar eclipse glasses... Really?

Listen to my mostly outdated but somewhat still relevant (from 2007) opinions about public broadcasting, blogging and podcasts... Also, OMG, I used to know and write about real things in the public broadcasting world!

My specialty is WordPress plugin and site development, and API integrations with things like Salesforce and learning management systems. My daily tools include:

  • PHP
  • Apex (Salesforce)
  • JavaScript
  • Node.js
    • Express
    • EJS
    • Mongoose
  • React
  • MongoDB
  • MySQL
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • REST APIs (building and consuming)
  • Linux
  • Apache
  • Nginx

I'm an experienced Linux sysadmin. I started around 2000 and never let up. Linux is one of the most beautiful things we have in the tech world. It's a gift that I don't take lightly. In a previous life I wrote Java servlets/JSP running on Tomcat. I once knew a bit of PERL.
